County May Receive $1.75 Million Medicare Help; Schools Will Get Aid, Too

Oswego County and the counties of New York State got some help Wednesday paying for rising Medicaid costs. The U.S. Senate approved a $26 billion plan, most of which will pour money into a Medicare fund.Â The county and all of its school districts will get money from this bill, though it’s not certain what schools will be able to do with the money.

Oswego County Plans Aerial Spraying This Evening

Weather permitting, the Oswego County Health Department will conduct an aerial spray of the Toad Harbor Swamp on the north shore of Oneida Lake this evening. The aerial spray will begin after 6 p.m. and continue until the area has been treated.

God Save The King And George Washington

The recreated armies of King George III and General George Washington will converge on historic Fort Ontario in Oswego for two days of living history activities on Aug. 14-15. The National Encampment of BAR was last held at Fort Ontario State Historic Site in 1996 and will feature volunteer reenactors from around the United States and Canada.

Fulton Cooperates With State Pension Investigation

The city of Fulton has given the state Attorney General’s office the records requested as part of the office’s investigation into alleged pension padding.

“We’ve got everything we could get for him and we sent it to him,” said Fulton Mayor Ron Woodward, referring to Attorney General Andrew Cuomo this week.Â “We haven’t heard any more.”
