Milestone: Caltabiano Honored For 25 Years With County

The Oswego County LegislatureÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Health and Human Services Committee recently presented Kate Caltabiano with a certificate of appreciation for 25 years of service. Caltabiano is the director of patient services for the nursing division of the Oswego County Health Department. Rotarians Hear About Upcoming Tax Season

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian Michelle Handley introduced Romey Caruso of RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting. Romey explained some changes for the upcoming tax year such as long-time residency credit and American Opportunity credit for undergraduates. He also said there have been 10,000 new IRS auditors hired who will diligently detail most all documents for unsubstantiated credits. The Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club meets every Friday at 7 AM at Fulton's Riverside Inn.

Staff Cuts Almost Inevitable If Fulton School Budget Is To Come Down, Committee Hears

The draft reviewed Tuesday night by a committee of district administrators, Board of Education members and several members of the public raises spending 3.4% but requires a 6.6% increase in the tax levy. That’s down from a 7.8% tax levy increase in the first draft of the budget, reviewed two weeks ago.

Superintendent of Schools Bill Lynch stresses that this is just a draft, and that the increases in the current draft are not acceptable.
