New York’s Electric Grid Prepared to Meet Summer Demand
The New York Independent System Operator reported that electricity supplies in New York state are expected to be adequate this summer, with a total of 42,169 megawatts of power resources available to meet forecasted peak demand conditions.
Teen-Ager Charged Following Suspicious Picture Incident
On Monday (May 28), at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Oswego City Police Department received information that there was a suspicious picture on social media. The picture was of a juvenile holding a rifle that appeared to be real with a threat made towards an unspecified school. The threat was determined to not be credible. However, Oswego Police continued the investigation and ultimately charged one 13-year-old boy with the offense, if committed by an adult, of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree.
Festival Celebrates Book Character ‘Madeline’ and her Connection to Oswego on June 2
“Madeline” fans of all ages can celebrate Oswego’s connection with children’s author Ludwig Bemelmans in a full day of activities on June 2. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fort Ontario State Historic Site and the nearby Oswego Civic Arts Center on East Fourth Street in Oswego.
