Mayor Barlow Announces Opening Of City of Oswego Dog Park

Mayor Billy Barlow and the Oswego Common Council will host a ribbon cutting event for the grand opening of the city of Oswego Dog Park on Thursday (June 7). The city of Oswego Dog Park was a project Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow announced in his 2018 State of the City Address as a new public amenity to the Oswego community as the city works towards becoming a more attractive community for people to live, work and play.

Third Ward Meeting To Feature Parks and Recreation Superintendent

A Third Ward meeting organized by councilor Donald Patrick Jr. will take place on Thursday, June 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lanigan Elementary School library. The meeting will feature guest speaker Barry Ostrander, Superintendent of the City of Fulton’s Parks and Recreation department. The meeting intends to promote open dialogue in a relaxed environment.

FPD Awards Kayleigh Hotaling the Robert Parkhurst Memorial Scholarship

Kayleigh Hotaling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hotaling, was presented with the Officer Robert Parkhurst Memorial Scholarship by the Fulton Police Department. Parkhurst was a Fulton Police Officer who was killed by a drunk driver in 1984. Each year, the department awards $500 to a high school senior who demonstrates the same qualities as Parkhurst.

Teen-Ager Charged Following Suspicious Picture Incident

On Monday (May 28), at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Oswego City Police Department received information that there was a suspicious picture on social media. The picture was of a juvenile holding a rifle that appeared to be real with a threat made towards an unspecified school. The threat was determined to not be credible. However, Oswego Police continued the investigation and ultimately charged one 13-year-old boy with the offense, if committed by an adult, of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree.
