State Police have charged 47-year-old Timothy J. Oleyourryk, of Oswego, with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident without reporting, a class “E” felony. In a brief meeting Thursday, the Oswego County Legislature got ready to tackle business in 2017. Kevin Gardner (R) was re-elected as the chairman of the Oswego County Legislature. In other action Thursday, legislators approved Chris Jones as the new clerk of the legislature.

A suggestion to create a “council attorney” position to avoid possible conflicts in the future was debated for about a half hour Wednesday night. Opponents say the position isn’t needed; the current system works fine. However, proponents point out that since the city attorney represents several other entities, conflicts are a real possibility.
