Pet of the Week – Merle
We featured Merle back in April, but he is still stuck being just an “office” cat. He is very good at that. He is totally in charge of all business operations, goes from lap to lap and computer to computer making sure that his directions are followed and that he gets the respect and attention (and kisses) he deserves.

Hundreds March In 29th Annual Children’s Parade
Hundred of youngsters, their friends and families, marched from Breitbeck Park to the Novelis Family Park (West Park) on Friday in idyllic weather. The annual Children’s Parade is considered by many to be the official start of Harborfest.

Harborfest 29 Kicks Off In The Port City
The 29th annual festival was greeted by warm temperatures and partly cloudy skies – with hundreds of people, young and old, ready to celebrate. Blues Traveler was nearly an hour late in performing. The fun continues throughout the weekend. Highlights include Friday’s Children’s Parade and Saturday’s fireworks display.
Countdown To Harborfest Under Way
The countdown to Harborfest 2016 is at a fever pitch, according to executive director Peter Myles. Activity got under way Wednesday at the midway. The Army Band will perform on the NRG Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park at 5:15 p.m. today (July 28) followed at 7 p.m. by Prime Time Horns.

Traffic Stop Ends In Drug Charges For Oswego Trio
The driver, Morgan O’Neil, 20, from Oswego, was found to be operating the vehicle without insurance, police said. She was further found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana and heroin. Both passengers, Zachery Palmitese, and Marc Walpole, from Oswego, were also in possession of heroin, according to the report.
Fulton Man Facing Drug Possession Charges After Traffic Stop in Lysander
At 10:55 a.m. today (July 27), State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 48 at Lamson Road, for a traffic violation. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver and sole occupant, Cody Dygert, from Fulton, was allegedly operating with a suspended permit, and was also in possession of heroin.
