On Tuesday November 17, at approximately 10:25 p.m., investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force executed a drug related search warrant on a 1996 Audi as it was being operated in the area of South Fourth and Pratt streets. As a result of the search warrant approximately 58 grams of cocaine was seized, police said. The two occupants were arrested

The Oswego City School District Board of Education signed a contract Tuesday night with Dr. Dean Goewey – approving him as the new superintendent of the Oswego City School District. “I am just fortunate to have had a career, largely in Oswego, full of dream jobs. I appreciate it,” he said.

At its meeting Monday night, the Administrative Services Committee recommended earmarking funds now to complete a granted project begun years ago. The project was started back in 2006, Justin Rudgick, community development director, told the committee. The facility will help attract more visitors to the Port City and generate increased revenue, councilors said.

Everyone needs something to be thankful for! Selena is thankful that no one makes fun of her bobtail. And really, how could anyone make fun of such a pretty cat? But she would be even more thankful if she had a home of her own.
The key to the Port City’s future could very well lie in its past. A public rally Thursday night to support a process leading to national landmark status for two key Oswego heritage sites drew hundreds to the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center. “The phrase ‘you are history’ has somewhat of a negative connotation to it,” said Jeff Grimshaw, chairman of the Fort Ontario National Landmark Committee. “However, for us it is a positive. We are history.”
