Saylor, also known as Boat Cat, was found under a boat. The vet’s office named her Boat Cat – her foster mom named her Saylor … get it? She was pretty banged up with a hip and and leg injury and a high fever when she was first rescued by a kind-hearted stranger and probably could not have survived on her own for much longer.

Amy Tresidder, the Democratic candidate for mayor of Oswego, and Billy Barlow, the Republican candidate, will square off in a debate Wednesday evening. The event will be held at the OHS theater at 6 p.m.

Three residents of Richland are facing felony drug charges. The charges allege that the three defendants acted in concert to knowingly and unlawfully manufacture methamphetamine.
At a special meeting Thursday, the board of education approved Dr. Heidi Sweeney to take the reins at OHS starting next week. Born and raised in Oswego she graduated from Oswego High School. “It’s an amazing idea to think that I am going to lead the high school that I graduated from,” she said.

Benjamin Kellogg is a 24-year-old freelance writer from Mexico. The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations at North Syracuse today (Oct. 7), announced the arrest of 26-year-old Alexander R. Watros, of 452 East Stone Road, Mexico, as a fugitive from justice.
