This regional event is brought together through the cooperative efforts of business, industry, municipalities, community not-for-profit organizations and the support of families and individuals. The behind-the-scenes organization has changed considerably over the years, but the festival continues to be a “must see” destination for thousands of New York State families.
New York Sea Grant has received funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration through the National Sea Grant College Program to track historic storm events along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario. The project will create a climatological event database to better assist risk projection to help communities increase their storm event resiliency.
Julian Ross is fighting for his life. But, the youngster is hardly waging this war alone. He is supported by an army of hundreds, if not thousands. Some of Julian’s Army are planning a fundraiser for the child. A spaghetti dinner benefit will be held April 4 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Old Timers’ Inn, 2030 County Route 1, Oswego.
Mayor Thomas W. Gillen announced the suspension of the alternate side winter parking restrictions, effective Wednesday (March 18), at 12:01 a.m. In accordance with the Oswego City Code, section 257-27, the Mayor may suspend or remove the winter parking ban prior to March 31 at his discretion if winter conditions permit. Residents are asked to be aware of our unpredictable weather and to minimize parking on our streets in the event of any future snowfall.
The Fulton Art Association is pleased to announce the winners of the ninth annual High School Invitational Art and Photography Show held at the Fulton Municipal Building. Ninety-one students from high schools in Fulton, Hannibal, Oswego, and Phoenix school districts submitted 112 pieces of artwork in 14 medium categories. The show was created to help provide encouragement and guidance to high school artists and provide them a venue to display their talent and artwork.

The Common Council is looking to help people improve their properties and not get hit in the wallet for it. To that end, Fifth Ward Councilor Bill Barlow has proposed implementing a new local law that would give homeowners incentive to make capital improvements.

On Wednesday investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Fulton City Police Department, arrested Thomas Knopp, 31, and Tifffany M. Braunig, 27, both of 121 W. Broadway, Fulton. The arrests were based on arrest warrants that had been issued by Oswego County Court as a result of Knopp and Braunig being indicted by an Oswego County Grand Jury, police said today (March 13).
