Schools Open, Despite Summer’s Tenacity

“School can’t be starting today,” lamented one youngster Wednesday morning outside of Oswego Middle School. “It’s still hot; it’s still summer!” Despite what the thermometer said, schools in the Oswego district threw open their doors and welcomed thousands of students back to the classroom.

Committee OKs Plans For Domestic Violence Awareness Events

Mayor Billy Barlow received a request from Sara Carmichael, Service to Aid Families Advocate with Oswego County Opportunities. They would like to use a portion of Breitbeck Park during the month of October in order to place a display in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. If you or someone you know is a victim or survivor of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence or stalking, call the Crisis Hotline at (315) 342-1600.
