A request by David Wahrendorf, owner of a single-family dwelling at 54 Liberty St., for proposed use of public space for use to park six vehicles was approved by the Physical Services Committee. The full council will consider it at its next meeting if all the requirements are met.

Thousands of students headed back to the classroom Wednesday to start another new school year. “There’s a positive atmosphere all around the district today,” said Superintendent of Schools Ben Halsey. “All the students are smiling; we have a friendly and welcoming staff, it’s just a great opening day.
