Authorities are searching for the cause of Thursday’s fire in Granby. Multiple fire departments responded to the fire on County Route 8 near Cedarwood Drive shortly after 5 p.m. There were no reports of any injuries.
The budget calls for a reduction of 8.6 positions. The head of the district’s CSEA is concerned that further reductions in staff would have a negative impact on the workers’ ability to perform all their duties. Some board members say they will do what they can to keep CSEA staffing at optimal levels.

The Oswego City School District’s 2013-14 budget was overwhelmingly approved by the voters Tuesday night. The unofficial results were 1,131 yes to 407 no. Voters also re-elected Kathleen Allen and Jim Tschudy. Heather DelConte was the second highest vote-getter.
The district is submitting its plan to the Supreme Court and State Education Department soon. District officials believe things will go smoothly and the school will be able to open at its new location, at 80 Dutch Road in the town of Scriba, in time for the start of the 2013-14 school year.
