The Renaissance Charter School project has been revamped over the last few months. Now, organizers are ready to give the project another shot. “We are carrying on with the charter school application,” said Rodica Ieta. “We will hold an open public meeting Thursday in the Community Room of the Oswego Public Library from 5 – 6 p.m.”
Mayor Tom Gillen officially proclaimed Feb. 1 and 2 as Warm Up Oswego Weekend, saying, “Oswego is known for its spectacular winters.” Warm up Oswego is a two-day festival that includes a bonfire on Feb. 1; snow sculpture contest, wine, chocolate and cheese event Feb. 2, Performers throughout the day and fireworks at night Feb. 2.
The Head Start preschool children at the Discovery Day Care got a lesson in ice fishing from two dads: Jack Hackett and Tom Mills. They showed the children the equipment that is used and how to catch the fish.
