At the recent county meeting, County Chairman Barry Leemann presented Lt. Col. John Freda and members of his squad with a proclamation honoring them for their championship drill team. This spring, it was named fifth best in the entire country. The group was also cited for its service to the community.

Old Man Winter took a whack at us the other day. The temps went back up and now it’s time for more rain showers.
A large crowd of veterans, friends and family gather to observe Veterans’ Day Friday, despite the winter-like temperatures. The flags at Veterans’ Memorial Park were retired until next spring.
OK, it was cooler. But there wasn’t any rain.
