Members of several local law enforcement agencies carried the “Flame of Hope” for an abbreviated run from the Oswego Police Department to the Oswego Police Department today (May 30) in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New York. Oswego’s Law Enforcement Torch Run season has kicked off the state-wide event takes place every year from May through June.

This year, the Port City has entered into an agreement with Onondaga County for purchasing services. According to Mayor Billy Barlow, the pact requires Oswego to make two updates to its purchasing policy. One relates to water meters. The other one deals with maintenance and safety.
Their ranks are thinning . . . but still they march on. On Monday, members of the area veterans’ and service groups spent the early morning visiting various parks and cemeteries in Oswego and surrounding communities paying tribute to our nation’s veterans. Once again, the Port City paused to honor and thank the men and women who fought and died for our freedoms.

Thomas Reynolds, assistant city attorney, received a request from The Broadwell Hospitality Group for an extension of the East Linear Park Transient Dockage agreement for an additional four years. In 2017, BHG was approved for management of the East Linear Park transient docking.
