The competition, which brought schools from all across the region, tested the students in Olympic-style competition in categories such as: cylinder stack, mug production, no hands throw, blindfold throw, pot put and highest coiling.
Brooklyn Saternow tapped her way to a first-place finish in Leighton Elementary School’s annual show. The fifth grader danced to “Mr. Blue Skies,” to which one peer said, “She is so good!”
Teachers and administrators were on hand to congratulate students who earned high honor roll, honor roll, perfect attendance or achieved academic growth from the previous quarter.
The winning team will represent Oswego County at the state level competition at Hobart and William Smith College on May 23-24. Teams from APW, Central Square, Fulton, Hannibal, Mexico, Oswego, Phoenix and Pulaski participated in the event.
