Mexico High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) club celebrated National Red Ribbon Week by offering prevention advice on a variety of topics to their peers. Throughout the week, SADD club members focused on awareness of distracted driving, drugs, bullying, alcohol and suicide.

A passion for working with challenging youth has led Erin Simmons to her most rewarding professional position yet: principal of Fourth Street School in Fulton. She realized the importance of the work around at-risk youth when she worked with a group of those children while she was in college studying for her bachelor’s degree in psychology.
The game sent students into a frenzy as they are tasked with figuring out various riddles and solutions in order to unlock the next exercise. Split into small groups, the students used the “7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids” they were taught to persevere through the struggles, all while practicing library skills.
