In conjunction with Catholic Charities of Oswego County, The Cornerstone Club in Fulton will host an open house for the community at their recently renovated location at 808 W. Broadway (State Route 3). The open house will take place November 9 from 3 to 5 p.m. All are welcome to tour the program and speak with staff.
Students have learned how to recognize feelings, ways to deal with those related emotions and come up with a plan to ensure healthy habits are practiced in handling those emotions. “Sometimes there are things that happen that you have to work through,” said Stephany Collins, music teacher, told Granby students during a recent assembly.
After three years, the cemetery fence on County Route 4 (Hall Road) in North Volney is restored and standing straight and proud! The cemetery association would like to thank the community, volunteers and everyone who made the restoration of the 100-year-old fence possible.
Granby Elementary students were recently honored for exhibiting the skills to succeed in school. During a school-wide assembly, 44 students received Skills for Learning awards, which recognized the youngsters for all of their academic efforts throughout the month of October.
The Oswego County New Horizons Band, a 40-piece concert band, will honor all our American Veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good, and their families with a free concert on November 10 at 7 p.m.
St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence in Oswego is putting the final additions on a project that has added physical improvements to the residence and uses new technologies to enhance the Memory Care at St. Francis program. The memory care program serves residents with early to mid-stages of a dementia-related illness like Alzheimer’s disease.
Students in the Stepping Stones Day Program at the Fourth Street School in Fulton got an early start trick-or-treating. The younger students of the program went door-to-door inside the Fulton Education Center seeking sweet treats from staff members and Fulton City School District administrators.
On Friday, November 17, at 6:30 p.m., participants will use special paints to turn a sheet of glass into “stained glass” instead of using the traditional method of lead and cut glass.
Mexico High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) club celebrated National Red Ribbon Week by offering prevention advice on a variety of topics to their peers. Throughout the week, SADD club members focused on awareness of distracted driving, drugs, bullying, alcohol and suicide.
The Oswego High School Drama Club has announced the upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim’s iconic musical “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” The macabre and murderous Sweeney Todd, a Londontown barber with a penchant for pastry, has been frightening and delighting audiences for decades in this rollicking tale of revenge.
