Two programs at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently showcased the importance of collaboration while working together on a project to honor law enforcement and firefighters.
Outstanding scholars were recognized in a special honors banquet held at Pulaski High School to commend those students who maintained a 95 or better average for the entire school year last year.
In a heartfelt and emotional tribute, the students and staff at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School honored those who have served their country in the armed forces during a special Veterans’ Day assembly at the school.
The annual event is planned and organized by the APW Student Government and serves as one of the major social events for those in the surrounding community. Many delay their “snowbird” migration until after the event and for some, the event is their “Thanksgiving dinner.”
In a joint effort to give back to the Oswego community, Zink Screenprinting & Design and YMCA’s ‘Reindeer Run’ will co-host the second annual ‘Oswego Cares’ Clothing Drive to benefit Oswego Industries on December 3, starting at 8 a.m. at Oswego YMCA on West First Street.
Students in the Culinary Arts program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently learned what it takes to cook in the military thanks to a visit from the U.S. Army.
With assistance from the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department, the students participated in a ladder climb exercise that required equal amounts of courage and teamwork.

Journey of Faith U.M.C. will host its 6th annual Thanksgiving Dinner from 1 – 2:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Folks who may not have family to celebrate Thanksgiving with are
invited to a free turkey dinner.
