OCAY League Students Solve Mock Crime

Oswego County Academic Youth (OCAY) League participants spent their second event of the school year analyzing scientific evidence and forensic files to solve a mock crime. After the points of the day’s tasks were tallied by a panel of judges, Mexico Academy & Central Schools proved victorious.

Bowen’s Corners Church Planning Holiday Bazaar

Preparations are under way for the annual Holiday Bazaar at the Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church to be held Dec. 2 and 3. The event will feature crafts, a bake sale and candy sale, a sale of gently used holiday items, and a luncheon. Bazaar hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence Director Julie Chetney (left) demonstrated how a personal activity monitor is worn on the wrist for Judy Cornell. As part of the project at St. Francis Commons, activity monitors will help evaluate levels of activity, with the expectation that increased activity will lead to improved wellness among residents. In addition, a renovation to the exterior of the residence will take place this spring and includes new and enhanced courtyard areas for more access to the outdoors while in a safe environment.
