On May 7, the community of Pualski will come together to give Shirley and Bob North a benefit party at Pulaski’s Ringgold Fire Hall, from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Since its inception, the Regatta has raised more than $325,000, which has directly helped to defray the costs of non-medical expenses for hospice patients and families.

The Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club added its support to St. Luke’s annual “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle Drawing taking place on May 7. The Rotary donated a valuable gift card that will be awarded at the event.
Student volunteerism, citizenship and community spirit were celebrated during the annual President’s Youth Service Awards ceremony held in the John C. Birdlebough High School cafeteria. The event honored 29 Phoenix Central School District students who combined for more than 12,000 of community service.
The event, which received a sizable turnout, provided an evening full of student achievements, including musical soloists, science and engineering presentations, art displays and hands-on technology demonstrations. “I believe we had well over 1,000 visitors,” said Michael Thurlow, a technology teacher and coordinator of the event.
Playing songs that came out decades before they were born, the students showcased their skills by playing classic rock songs before the standing-room-only crowd.
As the students performed various vocal and instrumental pieces, audience members enjoyed an array of delightful treats that were also served to them by the students.
