A fundraiser for the employees of Wade’s Diner will take place on November 14 at the Woodchuck Saloon, 1 Mitchell St. It gets under way at noon.
Penny Kimball, an Oswego County artist, will instruct two wood carving programs as part of Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center’s Nature Inspires series. On October 18 will be an Introduction to Wood Carving in Relief and on October 25 Wood Carving in the Round will take place. Both classes will begin at 2 p.m. and run until about 5 p.m.
Join ARISE for the second annual Light Up the Night run/walk taking place on October 2 at 7:30 p.m. This year’s event will feature both a 5k run and a 2.5K walk. Our event will be at Breitbeck Park.
ARISE is delighted to be joining with CNYS Arts Center for an exhibit of the work featured in ARISE’s 2015 UNIQUE Art and Literary magazine. The exhibit opens on September 23 and runs through October 12 at the CNY Arts Center in Fulton.
A meet and greet pizza, beverage and conversation at Riverside Inn will be held on September 30 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Demonstrating a continued commitment to the community, Raby’s Ace Home Center not only donates the hardware to the ARISE Oswego County Ramp Program to build the ramps, but they also made a generous contribution to the Program.
The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators recognized New York Sea Grant Extension Recreation Specialist David G. White as the Northern States Boating Educator of the Year at its 2015 conference in Wichita, Kans., this week. White was recognized for his excellence in boating safety programming by the 20-state Northern Caucus of NASBLA.
As the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation ushers in a new school year, the community is invited to share in the excitement and tour the new state-of-the-art facilities during a community open house Sept. 26. The event, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mexico campus (179 County Route 64), will feature food, prizes, student demonstrations and building tours.
The Lioness Club of Central Square Apple Festival is a fun filled weekend for the whole family. Friday night is the opening rides and food event, with no craft booths open at this time.
