Preparations are under way for the annual Holiday Bazaar at the Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church to be held Dec. 5 and 6. The event will feature crafts, a bake sale and candy sale, a sale of gently used holiday items and a luncheon which will be served throughout the day. Bazaar hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
VEX is a robotics company that has built a program to challenge high school students to engineer robots to compete against each other. During competitions students get a chance to earn a place at the state championship where the winning team can move onto the world competition competing for scholarships. Students learn valuable skills during preparation for and during the competitions.
The Fulton City School District has announced its schedule of upcoming concerts. A wide variety of instrumental and vocal options are available for your musical delight. All concerts are free and the public is invited to attend.
A Christmas craft show fundraiser will be held on November 29 from noon to 4 p.m. and November 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the Silver Star Union Hall on 701 Hannibal St. All proceeds to benefit the programs of the Mental Health Association of Oswego County.
ARISE recently held a reception at The Make Sense Shop in Pulaski to celebrate 10 years of service in Pulaski. ARISE received a Certificate of Recognition on behalf of Senator Pattie Ritchie from Jimmy Hayes as well as a Citation presented by (County Legislator) Terry Wilbur on behalf of Assemblyman Will Barclay.
Students Asa Finch, Lauren Goss and Anthony Lucas rounded out the top three spellers, with Lucas coming in first place by successfully spelling the word “calypso.”

Sandy Creek Middle School’s Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society held a new member induction ceremony on November 23. Thirteen members joined the 17 current members, in the prestigious group which recognizes outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.
A capella is the name of the game this year for the local chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. The performance will take place on December 6 at 2:01 p.m. and again at 7:01 p.m.
