Colten Matthew Bouchard will be celebrating his second birthday on August 14, 2014. Colten was born at Oswego Hospital weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce. He now weighs 25 pounds.

A sizzling summer of Arty fun is well under way for children at CNY Arts Center’s fourth annual Arty Day Camp at the center, 357 State St. In the first week of camp students received morning art and theatre classes with professionals followed by lunch, which was provided, then group activities and art projects.
The group of teens, under the direction of the library’s AmeriCorps member Vanessa Langdon, meets weekly to improve the library’s teen offerings as well as participate in a book club. The group took to weeding and picking up litter to beautify the grounds and complete an AmeriCorps project.
The five-year contract for the Hannibal Faculty Association was recently ratified by the school board and is retroactive to 2012. It strikes a balance that is beneficial to the district, community and teachers, according to district officials.
Despite the fact that the fish weren’t biting during a recent trip, residents at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego have been busy catching fun all summer long. Trips to favorite destinations like Bullhead Point on Lake Neatahwanta in Fulton for some fishing have been keeping folks active and connected with their community.

Take a trip back to when life was simple. Come to the North Volney Methodist Church on August 9 and see those wonderful cars we remember from our youth as well as some of the cars of today. The car show will be from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. on the church grounds with free admission.
Chuck Parker, an avid outdoorsman, conservationist, and president of the New York State Conservation Council, will speak about the Council and its activities on August 16 at 11 a.m. at the 2014 Clayton-1000 Islands Gun and Sportsmen Show in Clayton.
Journey of Faith United Methodist Church, 7721 State Route 104, Oswego, continues its Tuesday Summer Concert Series in August. A variety of performers will be sharing their talents. Concerts begin at 7 p.m.at the gazebo.
On Sunday at Harborfest, local youth showcased their talent at the second annual Oswego’s Got Talent Competition.
