Now in its tenth year, the 2014 edition of St. Luke’s “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle event promises to be the best yet. Great prize giveaways, fun, food and fantastic live music by The Cortini Brothers featuring Anna-Marie White are all part of the excitement; including a drawing for 15 cash prizes totaling $25,000 with a top prize of $10,000 to a lucky winner.
The Buc Parent League will be hosting a chicken BBQ fundraiser on June 1 from noon until 5 p.m. at Lighthouse Lanes. Chicken dinners, including homemade desserts will be available for a $9 donation. Tickets to the event can be obtained from any Buc parent, or at the door.
The Safe Haven Museum and Education Center is proud to announce that the 70th reunion of the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter will take place from June 19 through 22. On Aug. 5, 1944, 982 refugees who survived Nazi reign during World War II arrived at Fort Ontario in Oswego. They were allowed into the country as “guests” of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

State Police in Fulton are investigating a one-vehicle, fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Sunday (May 25) at approximately 8:11p.m. The collision occurred on Hall Road in the town of Oswego, approximately one half mile east of Chapel Road.

For the past year, the senator has pushed members of the conference committee that were drafting the final bill language to include these provisions in the bill. Schumer explained that the inclusion of these two provisions is a major victory for all of Upstate New York because it will prioritize dredging projects in Buffalo, Rochester and Oswego over the long-term that will make those harbors easier to navigate, and it will help make dams – and the communities near them – safer.
The Kenney Middle School fifth and six chorus and beginning band recently performed four songs each at their spring concert.
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior High School Spring Concert featured performances by talented seventh and eighth grade students from the school’s chorus and band.
The annual event, sponsored by the Hannibal Sports Booster Club, honored roughly 300 student-athletes who participated in junior varsity and varsity level competition throughout the school year.
