The Phoenix Central School District is accepting petitions for the board of education for the 2014-15 school budget vote and board of education elections in May. Three three-year seats on the Phoenix Board of Education are up for election this year, those of incumbents Paul Gilchriest, Debbie St. Phillips and Keith Watkins.
Muscles bulged and hearts pounded as Bob Natoli led his son Bobby (the youngest ever Guinness Strength and Fitness World Record Holder from a chin-up record in 2008), and son-in-law David Bourdon in breaking an amazing six Guinness Fitness World Records in only one hour while Lance Patterson, Guinness Record Adjudicator Michael Empric, and a large crowd of supporters cheered them on.
March’s character education trait in the Fulton City School District is perseverance. Students at Granby Elementary School, selected at best representing that character trait, were treated to a special breakfast with Principal Heather Perry.

The distinction acknowledges schools and districts across the United States for their commitment to and support for music education.
The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation marked the opening of the Seaway’s 56th navigation season today (March 28), with the transit of Algoma Central Corporation’s newly built ship, the Algoma Equinox, through Lock 3 of the Welland Canal. The vessel is the first of eight Equinox-class ships that are being purpose-built for trade in the St. Lawrence Seaway.
