Great Lakes Seaway Trail travel promoters invite cold season enthusiasts to visit the 518-mile-long National Scenic Byway region along the freshwater coastlines of New York and Pennsylvania to enjoy winter fun from wind skating and snowmobile trails galore to wine tastings and a frosty War of 1812 battle reenactment.
The Fulton Area Snow Travelers are a snowmobile club in Fulton. They have hosted the Whiteout Antique and Vintage Snowmobile Show and Swapmeet for four years. This year’s event will be held on Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Fulton War Memorial, 609 West Broadway, Fulton.
Nicholas Fisher, of Fulton, was among 31 men who were ordained to the priesthood by His Eminence Cardinal Velasio de Paolis, CS, Pontifical Delegate for the Legionaries of Christ on December 14, 2013, at the Papal Basilica of St. John Lateran, Rome, Italy. Of the 31 new priests, eight are American. Father Nicholas said he had the beginnings of a calling as young child living in New York State.
The Oswego Children’s Theater will host auditions for an upcoming teen theater production, on January 12 and 13 from 6 until 8 p.m. both days. The auditions will be held at the home of the Mosher Family located at 151 E. Seneca St., in Oswego.

The State Police in Fulton are seeking the public’s help in any new leads regarding a man missing from the town of Scriba since June of 2012. John T. Humphrey, would be 50 years old (DOB: 11/21/63). Humphrey was last seen wearing jeans and a gray sweatshirt. He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighs approximately 120 pounds. John Palmer, a student at Lanigan Elementary School was recognized by Principal Jeff Hendrickson recently in a special ceremony for being committed to his school work and achieving academic success.
Fairgrieve Elementary School Principal Jean Ciesla recently recognized 110 students with Academic Excellence Awards. The students were nominated by their classroom teachers based on their academic standing and outstanding behavior and attitude in the classroom.
