After several successful test runs of the Hannibal Central School District’s new emergency communication system, the notification tool has gone live. The system, Global Connect, uses cloud-based technology that allows the district to call, email or text important information to parents, staff, board members and others.
On Dec. 18, John C. Birdlebough High School auditorium was bright with musical delight as students and directors presented a joint holiday concert featuring both band and vocal ensembles.
Fairley Elementary School pre-kindergarten students belted out a handful of songs during a sing-along in the cafeteria on Tuesday. Wearing reindeer and elf hats made of construction paper, nearly two dozen afternoon pre-K students sang traditional songs such as “Jingle Bells.”
Students at Emerson J. Dillon Middle School had the opportunity to shop for family members as they perused a wide selection of gifts that were donated by staff and community members.
Tales intertwining history, animals and imagination were woven together by Volney Elementary School fourth-graders during a presentation to family members on Dec. 6. Twenty-one students in Erin Brewster’s class displayed their creativity as they read stories they wrote and illustrated as part of the English language arts curriculum.
All are invited to attend Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. for its annual Christmas Eve service. There will be special music for everyone to join in along with regular carols.
The Oswego City Police Department has recently made the following Felony arrests: An Oswego man was charged Dec. 16. Another Oswego man was charged Dec. 19. And, an Oswego woman was charged earlier today (Dec. 20).
Jeff Hendrickson, Principal at Lanigan Elementary School recently honored students for demonstrating the Fulton City School District’s virtue of the month for December which is empathy.
Volunteers from the Sandy Creek National Honor Society spent several hours ensuring that hundreds of less fortunate children in the Sandy Creek area had a happy Christmas morning and their families had a wonderful holiday meal this year. The students, along with their advisor, Casey Vallance, volunteered their time and energy to help local community groups wrap and box the holiday goodwill.
