Fairgrieve Elementary School recognized students during a recent Morning Express ceremony for their exemplary behavior in showing respect during the month of September. The recognition is awarded each month to students who exemplify the Fulton City School District’s behavioral expectations, which include being respectful, responsible, safe and a problem solver.
Brenda Irving of Oswego was recognized at the National MS Society Upstate New York Chapter’s annual meeting on October 17. The event was held at the Crowne Plaza in Syracuse and highlighted several individuals who have worked towards creating a world free of multiple sclerosis.
“Teaching in their world.” Those are the words that Delaine Trexler uses to describe her eighth grade science class at the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior/Senior High School. Trexler combined teaching and technology, and turned her classroom into a blended learning environment.
The Hannibal Historical Society is hosting an Archives Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Hannibal Community Center on Oswego Street. Town, Village and Historical Society Historian Lowell Newvine will show copies of newspaper clippings and photos dating from the mid 1800s.
The city ordinance prohibits the parking of any motor vehicle in/on any city street or city parking lot from 1:30 through 5:30 a.m. from November 1 to April 1. The penalty for a violation of the all-night parking ban is $15. Unpaid fines double every ten days. Vehicles may also be towed.
The Board of Education of the Oswego City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Benjamin Halsey as Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Halsey, a distinguished leader with more than 20 years of experience in education, will be appointed at the special meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29.
