Sandy Creek High makes the grade according to SED and is designated as a Reward School

The New York State Education Department recently announced that Sandy Creek High School has been designated as a Reward School. The only school in Oswego County to receive this recognition, and one of only a handful of schools in the Central New York region, Sandy Creek High School was selected based on its significant progress in several areas and their and the highest achievement in the state with no significant gaps in student achievement.

It is a city with a distinct place in New York State history and outstanding natural beauty and resources. In-Nova.1 offers job creation in operations, entertainment, management and, critically, professional product and service business roles. It is a win-win proposal for Oswego and its future.

Oswego and Cortland to Compete on Energy Savings

Mayor Tom Gillen has announced the launch of the 2013 Central New York Energy Challenge program. The challenge welcomes all citizens, neighborhoods, business groups and community organizations to form teams to set goals and reduce energy costs. Mayor Gillen has issued a challenge to Mayor Tobin of the city of Cortland to have some fun with the competition and rally more participation among Oswego’s citizens.
