Pulaski Junior High School eighth graders put their technology knowledge to the test when they created Quality World collages using iPads in their math classrooms. The project tasked students to create a personalized collage using images that represent their “Quality World” and their “basic needs.”

Alexis Alfano of Oswego was recently selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Teen Syracuse/Binghamton pageant competition that will take place on October 12. Community members with diabetes or those that provide care to those with the disease can learn more about diabetes, its prevention and ways to manage the disease during Oswego Health free diabetes day on September 30. This community event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Springside at Seneca Hill.
On October 29, Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations will gather women from across New York State for Connections, a day-long conference to be held at River Vista Center in Fulton from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
One day after the primary election the City of Fulton Republican Committee welcomed 12 new members to the committee. There was also an immediate changing of the guard and new officers were elected to head up the committee.
On October 2, the issue of homelessness in Oswego County will be front and center as COACH, Oswego County’s continuum of Care committee hosts a community forum on the topic. To be held, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Oswego County Health Department, the forum will offer the community the opportunity to hear the specifics on homelessness in Oswego County and learn of the plans being developed to effectively address the issue.
