One of the most important freedoms we enjoy as citizens of this great country is the right to vote. I would like to thank the Republican and Conservative voters of Hannibal for placing their trust in me and choosing me as their candidate in the general election for Town Justice. This year’s primary election had a great turnout.

Climate Committee to host community craft fair in Sandy Creek
Sandy Creek Elementary School’s Climate Committee will host a Community Craft Fair on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by the elementary school to visit a marketplace of vendors featuring local crafters, a bake sale, silent auction and more. The goal of the Sandy Creek Elementary School Climate Committee is to create a positive school atmosphere.
Benefit to be held Sept. 15
A benefit will be held for Helen/Candy Sereno on Sept. 15 at Timber Tavern Route 48 Baldwinsville from 1 to 6 p.m. Helen suffered a massive heart attack on June 16 and has been unable to work and faces mounting medical expenses.
Fire Department reviews its use of priority dispatch
In April of 2006, in conjunction with the Oswego County E911 Center, the Oswego Fire Department has been utilizing “Priority-based Emergency Medical Dispatch.”
The system has proven to work very well, and assists fire department management in dispatching the appropriate units on emergency medical services alarms.
Parents of Special Children, Inc. Hosts Annual Barbecue
Parents of Special Children, Inc. again hosted its annual barbecue at Douglaston Manor in Pulaski recently. This is the fourth annual backyard barbecue hosted by the Barclay family and has become a tradition for many area families who benefit from services provided by Parents of Special Children, Inc., a local service and social network organization for families that have children with special needs.

Oswego to do maintenance flushing on the eastside
The city of Oswego Department of Public Works Water maintenance personnel will be performing preventative maintenance flushing of the water distribution system on the eastside of the city starting September 23. The affected area will be south of State Route 104E to East Utica Street and from East First Street to the eastern city limits, starting at East First and Bridge streets.
Lanigan welcomes students back to school with block party
Fun and games at Lanigan – The Lanigan Elementary Block Party, held annually at the school, provided an opportunity for parents, students and teachers to come together for hot dogs, entertainment and conversation.
