The Fulton City School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program hosted an evening of magic at the recent Family Fun and Open Registration Night. Current UPK students enjoyed a performance by the Twin Magicians while parents spent time with kindergarten teachers and other district officials discussing the transition from UPK to kindergarten.
Students in pre-kindergarten through grade five along with their family members were invited to participate in an evening of Reading Olympics.
Amelia Michelle Wade, a junior at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School, unexpectedly passed away in 2010. To honor her memory, her parents, Eric and Valerie Wade, along with their daughter, Kara, set up a scholarship in Amelia’s name to be awarded to APW High School seniors who exhibit exceptional character and plan to enter the medical field.
Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School Principal Jamie Coppola recently announced the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2013. Brian Wilson was named Valedictorian. Victoria Stanton was named Salutatorian.
Lana Mahle turned 10 years old on June 11. She celebrated with a surprise party thrown by her mother and aunt, with friends and family.
Ira Marcks, an illustrator and cartoonist, stopped by Oswego County BOCES in early June to help students express themselves through a variety of creative projects.
Spare change and monetary donations totaling $170 was collected to support cancer research, cancer patient services and treatment.
G. Ray Bodley High School seniors were honored for their high academic achievement during a recent High Honor Graduates Awards Ceremony held at the school.
Fairgrieve Elementary School recently announced its top Accelerated Readers for the 2012-13 school year and rewarded Accelerated Reader participants earning a minimum of 100 points a special pizza party that included lunch with Principal Jean Ciesla.
Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang said, “We received the test results this afternoon from several water samples that were taken on Tuesday, June 11. They show that the water is now safe for residents to drink and to use for cooking.”
