SUNY Oswego’s Lifestyles Center won the 2013 Area 11 Outstanding Chapter Award at the regional conference of the Bacchus Network, held March 8 and 9 at SUNY University of Buffalo.

Recently sightings of Bald Eagles have been reported along the Oswego River. Several have been spotted in the Minetto area starting by Gray Road to just before the Midway Drive-In. “Bald eagles are known for congregating near areas with open water, and Oswego County has several pristine natural areas, such as the Salmon River corridor, that attract our national bird,” said David Turner, director of the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning.
Sixth grade students at Granby Elementary set the example for building an anti-bullying community within their school.

SUNY Oswego’s Golden Romney Field House has reopened to limited spring practices as work wraps up on a $2 million project to breathe new athletic life into the college’s former ice hockey home. “It’s a transformation,” said Nicholas Lyons, vice president for administration and finance. “It came out very, very well.”
Fulton’s closed Birds-Eye food processing plant is getting one more boost in the effort to find a buyer to reopen it. The New York Power Authority’s Recharge NY program has approved a $3.2 million dollar purchase of low-cost power for the plant.
