With the first quarter of the school year behind them and their buckets filled to the brim, students at the school were rewarded with a PBIS celebration and an opportunity to watch a movie or participate in a fun activity of their choice.

Malakai Hunter Nelson was born in Oswego Hospital on November 21, 2012, at 6:53 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21 inches long.
At approximately 9:54 p.m. a 2009 Pontiac G6, being operated by Ryan M. Hilton, 27, of 28 Kennedy Drive, Oswego, was stopped in the area of Bunner and Maple streets. He was subsequently found to allegedly be in possession of a small amount of marihuana as well as 44 individually wrapped bags of heroin.
Hannah Walker, a junior at Sandy Creek High School, was selected through audition to the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All State Conference Symphonic Band.
Eligible students were invited to apply the week of November 12 . In order to be eligible students must have an overall GPA of 87.0 or above. The application process asks students to provide written information to the selection committee regarding their efforts with community service, leadership, and character.
Students in first and second grades at Sandy Creek Elementary School performed several Thanksgiving-themed songs under the direction of music teacher Jackie Hobbs during the Annual Thanksgiving Feast.
The Fourth Annual Sandy Creek Alumni Basketball game will be held on Dec. 28 in the high school gymnasium. The evening will feature two games, a boys’ and girls’, with the first game beginning at 6 p.m. A shooting contest will be held between the two games.
Granby Elementary School wrapped up the first quarter of the 2012-13 school year with a celebration to recognize positive behavior.
Preparations are under way for the annual holiday bazaar at the Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church to be held Friday and Saturday. The event will feature crafts, a bake sale and candy sale, and a luncheon, which will be served throughout the day. Bazaar hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
