The Oswego County Health Department reports that West Nile virus was found in mosquitoes collected Aug. 7 near the Toad Harbor Swamp in West Monroe. The County was notified Aug. 20 by the New York State Department of Health of the positive mosquito sample.
Construction work is currently under way, with a project completion date slated for June of 2013.
They allegedly failed to provide the Oswego County Housing Department with proper living arrangements and income which would have made them ineligible for more than $12,000 in housing assistance.

State Police are continuing to investigate a one-car crash that injured a Hannibal man this morning.
The 4 subjects previously resigned from the fire department in February of this year after an internal investigation determined there was “inappropriate spending” involving these subjects. This internal investigation was turned over to the State Police Bureau of Investigation in Fulton which resulted in the arrests.
As a result of the search warrants that were executed on August 15, Oswego Police
seized evidence and/or contraband from each of the five locations. Suspected synthetic drugs werediscovered in three of the five of the locations. The seized material will be sent to a crime lab for testing prior to any potential related charges being filed.
