Crossing Bridge Street – DOT, City Of Oswego Collaborate On Crosswalk Safety

A car stopped in crosswalk as pedestrian signal show 18 seconds of crossing time for pedestrians still available. Vehicles driving into the crosswalk when pedestrians are crossing is a ticketable offense acccording to New York State Traffic Safety Regulations.Diana Graser, regional traffic engineer, and Scott Bates, of the New York State DOT, joined representatives of the city, the Oswego Network of Entrepreneurs, ARISE, the National Federation of the Blind and the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce to follow up on a survey of pedestrian cross walks on Bridge Street.

Half-Shire Historical Society – News July 20, 2012

The 155th Oswego County Fair is now history and the record of activities in Heritage Hall show a very productive week. We had many 100s of people walk through our building and visit with us. Our volunteers scanned 1,000s of photos and made corrections and additions to numerous family trees. The weather cooperated fully, with only one day that was overly warm.

Oswego County Office For The Aging Warns of Shortfall in Senior Meals Program

Oswego County’s Senior Nutrition Program serves up to 600 seniors a day across the county. However, voluntary contributions to the program are down this year and there is concern that the agency may have to establish a waiting list or make other adjustments if contributions don’t pick up.
