Renowned Ying Quartet to Return, Launch Ke-Nekt Season

 The Ying Quartet will open the Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in SUNY Owego’s Sheldon Hall ballroom. Host Trevor Jorgensen of the SUNY Oswego music department will lead the artists in a preconcert talk at 7. Tickets are available at all SUNY Oswego box office locations, athttp://tickets.oswego.edu and by calling 312-2141. Seven years ago, the Ying Quartet performed the first program of the new Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series at SUNY Oswego.

The renowned ensemble returns to launch another varied season when it performs in the Sheldon Hall ballroom at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Young Angler Treated to New York’s Finest Carp Fishing

13-year-old Lintaro Kajiwara holds a hefty Oswego River carp as his parents Shiho (left) and Munenori Kajiwara look on. All of the fish caught during that session were released back into the river. Lintaro was fishing with Mike McGrath and Associates in Minetto.  Lintaro Kajiwara, a rising star on the international junior carp fishing circuit, tried his luck on the Oswego River the morning of August 18. For his efforts, he landed nearly 100 pounds of carp in less than an hour.
