Cayuga CC and Geospatial Institute Receive an International Award for GIS Programs

The Cayuga delegation was one of only seven K-12 institutions or universities and community colleges recognized with a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award.Cayuga Community College and the Institute for the Application of Geospatial Technology (IAGT) received a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award at the Esri International User Conference (Esri UC) in San Diego, California, on July 13, 2011. This award acknowledges vision, leadership, hard work, and innovative use of Esri’s geographic information system (GIS) technology.

‘Caravanserai’ to Promote Understanding of Pakistani Cultures

 Arif Lohar, a popular Pakistani singer and player of the chimta (a tong-like, jingle-bedecked instrument), will bring the traditional folk music of Punjab to SUNY Oswego in April as part of the fall-to-spring program "Caravanserai: A Place Where Cultures Meet." SUNY Oswego’s Artswego will be among only five arts organizations nationwide to host groundbreaking performances, campus residencies and community dialogues in the first year of a program aimed at fostering better understanding of cultures throughout the many-hued world of Islam.
