Buc Seniors Wrestle Final Time at Home; Bowlers Seek Post Season

OSWEGO, NY – It was senior night at the Oswego Middle School on Monday as the Baldwinsville Bees came to town to wrestle against the Bucs.

The Bees won 65-8, but more importantly it was the final home appearance of Dan Ellingwood and Eric Susino-Acton as they were recognized during senior night ceremonies.

In wrestling action there were five actual matches as Oswego forfeited in eight weight classes.

Mike Ruggio, at 171, pinned Gunner Stuphen in 4:18 for a technical fall while at 160 Dan Ellingwood scored a 7-3 decision over Eustice James.

In other action Jordan Attwood, at 119, was pinned by Connor Ross in 3:06 while at 125 Matt DiFabio was pinned by Vito Caloia in 1:27. Eric Susino-Acton was pinned by Brent Grippe at 152 in 4:08.

The other activity on the mat in jayvee action saw Colt Simmons of Oswego lose to Brent Grippe at 160 in 3:06 and Tyler Henry was pinned in 5:52 by Kevin Norton at 189.

Bowlers’ League Title Hopes Dashed

Fayetteville-Manlius ruined the Oswego Bucs opportunity to capture a league title as the Hornets swept the boys 3-0 on the lanes while the girls captured two points to keep them alive for a berth in the sectionals.

In boys’ action FM scored a 1,052-921 win in the first game and 1,015-951 in the middle before gaining the sweep with a 979-942 verdict in the finale.

Cameron Byrne had a 613 series while Zack Delbrocco was 582 followed by Gavin Gilver 572, Matt Clemons 535 and Dan Cliff 512.

In girls’ action the Bucs lost the first game 730-641, but came back with wins of 831-740 and 596-613.

Christie Hoefer paced the team with a 527 and was followed by Paige Blum 453, Ashlee Lytle 441, Alison Martin 359, Brittney Noyes  284 (two games) and Courtney Bartlett 103 (one game).
