OSWEGO Ã¢â‚¬â€œ All Oswego County youth and families are invited to celebrate Halloween and the autumn season at the Halloween Happening at Camp Hollis from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. The event is one in a series of special programs that give Oswego County residents the opportunity to enjoy Camp Hollis year-round.
The free event will feature a variety of Halloween and autumn-themed games and outdoor activities. Visitors will be able to carve and decorate pumpkins, visit a Ã¢â‚¬Å“friendly ghostsÃ¢â‚¬Â cabin, tour a haunted trail, learn Ã¢â‚¬Å“ThrillerÃ¢â‚¬Â dance steps, and enjoy traditional camp activities such as sports, nature hikes, campfire sing-a-longs and arts and crafts. Many of the activities will be held outside. Participants should dress accordingly.
Some activities will be offered for specific age groups and parents will be advised as to which are appropriate for their children. Registration for the event is not required. Donations to support future Ã¢â‚¬Å“Family Fun DaysÃ¢â‚¬Â are welcome.
Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau as a residential camp during the summer months for children who live in Oswego County. The facility is available April through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
