Oswego County Opportunities Head Start Program will host its annual Community Literacy Night, featuring Pete the Cat. This event will take place at Head Start centers throughout the county on April 18.

The Oswego Lions Club will host the seventh annual Rivers Edge “handmade” Craft Show on June 10. The event will take place where the beautiful Oswego River and Lake Ontario meet. Hours for the craft show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Assemblyman Will Barclay recently visited the new Catholic Charities building located on Route 3 in Fulton. The new handicap accessible building offers nutritional outreach, children and family services, youth programming, and provides a new gym space for recreational activities.
Murphy’s Automotive Solutions on Fred Haynes Boulevard in Oswego Town has donated a gift certificate in support of the annual “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle Drawing Party taking place on May 5. The gift certificate will be one of many prizes up for grabs during the event; including the big drawing for cash prizes totaling $25,000.
State Senator Patty Ritchie announced the new state budget contains an additional $40 million for the Lake Ontario Flood Relief and Recovery Grant Program, which will ensure all 3,500 expected eligible applicants, including 1,100 from Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties, receive the support they need to recover from last spring’s historic flooding.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on April 22, serving from 4 to 6 p.m. The menu, subject to change, will be roast pork, macaroni and cheese, vegetables, bread, and dessert.

Members of SUNY Oswego’s College-Community Orchestra will perform pieces by Bach, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn and Mozart in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. April 27, in Sheldon Hall ballroom, joined by students from the college’s “Intermediate Ballet Technique” class and others from the Oswego Ballet Academy.
