Quest Presentation To Examine Local Teen Pregnancy Rates, Awareness
SUNY Oswego student MacKenzie Grow’s research into high local teenage pregnancy rates and awareness of resources will be among the topics explored at the college’s Quest on April 4. Quest, the college’s annual daylong celebration of student, faculty and staff scholarly and creative activity, invites the campus and community to attend free panels, presentations, readings, a poster session and more.

Fulton Lions Club Donates $1,000 To Stone Soup, Too!
Ali McGrath, resource development director for the United Way of Greater Oswego County, accepted a check for $1,000 from Fulton Lions Club President Michelle Stanard, in support of Stone Soup, Too! luncheon. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 10 at Holy Trinity Church, 309 Buffalo St., Fulton.

The SUNY Oswego planetarium will examine “Mars: The Opposition of 2018” at 7 p.m. every Sunday during March. The show will explore the upcoming perihelic opposition of Mars — when it comes closest to the Earth — which will occur on July 27.

Career Day Gets Bodley Students Thinking About Course Choices
G. Ray Bodley High School’s annual Career Day brought several people – and a dog – together to expose the students in grades nine through 12 to pathways toward a future career. While representatives from the fields of law enforcement, hospitality, military, cosmetology, media and athletics, among several others, spoke about their individual journeys, a majority of them had one common theme: consider the best educational courses now.

Judges Announced For Next Great Idea 2018 Oswego County Business Plan Competition
The panel of judges has been secured for The Next Great Idea 2018 Oswego County Business Plan Competition, according to Austin Wheelock, deputy director for Operation Oswego County and co-chair of NGI. “The Next Great Idea is the result of business and community leaders joining together to launch a competition that encourages entrepreneurs to commit to new business development in Oswego County and offers a $50,000 prize to help make a dream come true,” Wheelock said.
