Conners Visits Lions Club; Shares Tale Of Trek Up Mount Kilimanjaro
Fulton resident Timothy Conners, who lost his sight to leukemia when he was 15, presented a program to the Fulton Lions Club on his trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point on the African continent at 19,341 feet. Conners made the climb even though he is visually impaired, to “redefine possible.”

In the popular annual activity, children can take part in a variety of Halloween games and activities that day from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center food court. Admission is one non-perishable food or toiletry item donation per child.

Oswego State Downtown Exhibition To Focus On Zoo Animals As Refugees
An exhibition starting Nov. 3, at Oswego State Downtown will feature the work of J. Lachlan Kadick, a SUNY Oswego alumnus and Syracuse City School District teacher whose work speaks to the displacement of zoo animals. The exhibition, titled “J. Lachlan Kadick: Displacement,” will run through Jan. 24.

SUNY Oswego art faculty member Christopher McEvoy will exhibit his latest paintings from Oct. 27 to Nov. 12 in Tyler Art Gallery on campus. The artist’s reception for “Christopher McEvoy: New Work” will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 10, in Tyler Hall’s rejuvenated lobby and adjacent gallery.

United Way of Greater Oswego County Campaign Assistant Kay Duguay met with some of the volunteers that helped make the United Way’s chicken BBQ / chili cook-off fundraiser a success. Hosted by Woodchuck Saloon in Oswego the event raised more than $1,170 in support of United Way’s Annual Campaign.
