At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Chad Whelsky introduced Meave Gillen, director of RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program). RSVP is a program where seniors, 55 and older, volunteer their time and talents to support non-profit organizations and public agencies throughout Oswego County.

The Oswego City School District announced today changes to its school lunch pricing for the upcoming 2017-18 school year. Pending board of education approval, the price of elementary, middle and high school lunches will increase by 10 cents each, effective September 6.
Jim Farfaglia of Fulton shared his experiences collaborating on books about local topics in Fulton at a recent meeting of the Fulton Rotary Club. Farfaglia and retired Fulton Library director Betty Maute started the Fulton Memoir Project, through which Fultonians attended writing workshops to refine their stories.
The Zonta Club of Oswego will provide the next Oswego County Salvation Army Guest Chef Dinner on September 12 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. They will be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, corn, and tossed salad.
The Pulaski Historical Society will hold the next in this year’s series of Brown Bag Lunches on Sept. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public. For the September Brown Bag Lunch, the topic is: “What Does PROP (Preservation and Revitalization Of Pulaski) Do?”
Elizabeth and Evangeline Canfield, both SUNY Oswego music faculty members and Oswego Youth Conservatory teachers, have added group piano classes this fall for the very young and the young at heart. Emphasizing fun and familiarity, the Canfields are offering lessons for children ages 4 to 6. Adults can tap their inner musician, too, with a new series of classes.

SUNY Oswego recently learned it will receive the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) 2017 Excellence and Innovation Award in International Education, a national honor that cites the college for its efforts to embed study abroad in the curriculum and to make study-travel opportunities more accessible to under-represented students.
Oswego County Opportunities’ Director of Developmental Disabilities Services Michelle Canfield presented staff members Julie Klotzner and Carol Smith with Outstanding Employee Awards. Nominated by fellow employees, the two were recognized for their commitment, resourcefulness, and dedication to OCO and those they serve.
