Leighton School Invites All Veterans To Veterans’ Day Celebration

Calling all veterans! On Thursday, Nov 9, Leighton Elementary School will host a Veterans’ Day celebration. “We’ll hold an assembly at 9 a.m. in the gymnasium. We will have presentation/representation from each of the branches of military,” Jennifer Cahill, one of the organizers, told Oswego County Today. “Students will be singing the branches’ military anthems.” The students would like to invite all veterans in the community.

Fulton Pop Warner Captures CNY Championship

Fulton’s Junior Pee-Wee Pop Warner football team captured the CNY South title with a 28-7 victory over FM at Chittenango High School on October 29. The championship game was a rematch from the regular season where the Raiders outlasted the Hornets 24-20 at Recreation Park. Fulton finished the season with an 8-0 record en route to the organizations 9th CNY Championship.

Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow announced today (Oct. 31) he has appointed Danielle Hayden as the new chair to the Promotion and Tourism Advisory Board. “I’m pleased to place Danielle in the position of chairwoman for the city of Oswego’s Promotion and Tourism Advisory Board, as I believe she has the credentials and proper perspective to bring news ideas and a different approach on how we can best promote our wonderful community,” said Mayor Barlow.
