At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Dan Farfaglia, right, introduced Phil Church, Oswego County Administrator and a driving force for the creation of a National Marine Sanctuary in eastern Lake Ontario. He gave an overview of the more than 20 known and 48 suspected historic shipwrecks and one aircraft that are within the Lake Ontario nomination area and a history and updated timeline of the nomination and designation process.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee recently presented a certificate of appreciation to Oswego County E-911 Director Michael Allen on his retirement. He also received a standing ovation from the full Legislature for his 34 years of service to the county.

Local schools can keep using colorful decals with images of friendly squirrels, cats, elephants, frogs and other animals to help young children identify the right school bus to take them home at the end of the school day, after state officials repealed an earlier order that they were illegal and needed to be removed.
At a recent noon Rotary Club meeting in Fulton, Mary Costigan, of Fulton Rotary Club and director of Michaud Nursing Home in Fulton welcomed Greg Osetek, public relations director of the St. Luke Family of Caring in Oswego County and Nikki Greenier, program director for The Cornerstone Club, a new social day club for older adults.
Local officials recently participated in the dedication of a historic roadside marker at the former site of the Richardson Theatre. The unveiling took place in front of 120 E. First St. in Oswego on Tuesday, May 23.

Residents at St. Francis Commons in Oswego spent an afternoon with some very special visitors from the Seven Acres Farm in Phoenix. Owners Bill Bundy and Paul McKinney brought along two of the herd of 16 alpacas they raise.
