Susan Pope, disaster services coordinator for the Central New York Chapter of the American Red Cross, told the Fulton Rotary Club about the chapter’s services for residents of five counties.

Spring is almost here and that means plans are being made for the Springboard Mural Project along West Linear Park in Oswego. “Starting our ninth year of artwork, the mural project is actively seeking interested youth artists who would like to create a piece of artwork and paint it in a public space in the city of Oswego,” said Kristen Slimmer, youth activities coordinator for the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.

Olivia Cacchione of Sterling was one of fourteen students recently recognized by the Pi of New York chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Elmira College as outstanding members of the Class of 2018 and 2019.

Oswego County Opportunities is holding its annual public election of members of its board of directors who will represent the low-income sector on its board. Ballots will be available for voting to take place at various sites during the dates and times listed below.

A delegation of Oswego County youth met with State Senator Patty Ritchie and Assemblyman Will Barclay during a recent trip to Albany for the Youth Leadership Forum and Advocacy Day sponsored by the Association of New York State Youth Bureaus.

Price Chopper Supermarkets will be closing the pharmacy in its Oswego store, 137 State Route 104, effective at 8 p.m. on March 22. Patient prescriptions have been transferred to the nearby Rite Aid pharmacy.
