Oswego Lions Club Annual Wine and Beer Tasting With Silent Auction Set For American Foundry

The Oswego Lions Club will hold its 19th annual Wine and Beer tasting with silent auction March 31 at the American Foundry in Oswego. The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with pre-sale tickets $15 and $20 at the door the night of the event. SUNY Oswego in Syracuse will hold a reception for artist Jason Cheney from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 30, at the Tyler Art Gallery branch in the Metro Center, 2 Clinton Square. Cheney will display mixed-media drawings such as "Alis Volat Propriis" ("She Flies with Her Own Wings," pictured) that use odd juxtapositions and elements of science fiction to explore myth, fantasy and story.

Buddy and Porky Pet Health – Feds Looking To Void Animal Protection

Well, here we go again! Under the Obama administration, the US Fish and Wildlife Service implemented a rule that prohibited certain hunting methods on 76 million acres of federal land in Alaska. On February 17, the House of Representatives passed H.R. Resolution 69, which is the first step in revoking the rule under the Congressional Review Act. Claudia Tenney, John Katko and Tom Reed all voted in favor of the resolution.

Classes To Help Improve Balance, Prevent Falls Starts April 24

“Stepping On,” a workshop designed to help participants improve their balance and avoid falls is now accepting registrations. “Stepping On” is an evidence-based program proven to reduce falls in older adults. The workshop will be presented for two hours, once a week, for seven weeks at Bishop’s Commons in Oswego.
