The Oswego County Office of the Aging recently donated warm clothing, coats, hats mittens and scarves that will be distributed by Catholic Charities of Oswego County this holiday season.

Start the new year off with a celebration of snow at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center on January 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. This family-oriented program will explore the science of snow with simple experiments and craft along with a snowshoe walk through the woodlands.
As part of a quarterly awards program, Phoenix high school teachers nominated students who demonstrated positive character attributes and leadership qualities since the beginning of the school year. The honorees were presented with Spark awards certificates and were lauded for igniting the path to greatness.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented Jill Wood with a certificate of appreciation for her 25 years of service.

Members of the SUNY Oswego Men’s and Women’s Lakers ice hockey teams presented United Way of Greater Oswego County with a donation of non-perishable food items and toys. The items, which were collected at both men’s and women’s hockey games, were shared with Human Concerns and Catholic Charities.
All Oswego County offices, solid waste transfer stations, the Bristol Hill Landfill and the Materials Recovery Facility will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, in observance of Christmas Day, and Monday, Jan. 2, for New Year’s Day.
