The Oswego County Historical Society will host the final lecture of the 2016 series on November 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richardson-Bates House Museum at 135 E. Third St. in Oswego. The event is free and open to the public. Local author Dr. Natalie Woodall will present a program based on her current book entitled “Men of the 110th Regiment: Oswego’s Own.”
Representatives from the Fulton School District, Cayuga Community College, the greater Oswego Fulton Chamber of Commerce, and the city of Fulton Police Department joined OCO Executive Director Diane Cooper-Currier, OCO board members, and OCO Health Education staff for the celebration.
Students, staff and parents were given a guided wagon tour of the apple orchard, followed by apple picking and a tour of the farm. Each visitor was given a bag to fill with apples that they hand-picked from the orchard.

Inspired by the movie, “Night at the Museum,” Volney Elementary School’s gymnasium was recently transformed into a wax museum that featured sixth grade students who portrayed famous historical figures. Volney’s “Day at the Museum” tour was the culmination of a history research project.
Each classroom teacher recognized one of his or her students for making good decisions about what they do and say in class, special areas and throughout the hallways.
More than 20 Fairgrieve Elementary School students were recognized during a recent Morning Express program for demonstrating responsibility and other character attributes.
The Oswego Department of Parks and Recreation will be accepting rosters for the City Co-Ed Adult Volleyball League until November 18 at 2:30 p.m.
The shows will be held at the New Haven Fire Station, 4211 State Route 104, the Congregational Church, 4270 State Route 104 and the Community Alliance Church, 4175 State Route 104.
